My little sister was the very definition of a wild child, and her favorite game was "mad scientist". She'd steal our mom's perfumes and mix them all together, along with a few questionable ingredients, like the cheap makeup I got for Christmas. Then she would pour it into the melted wax from the candles our mom always had lit somewhere in the house. It usually ended in disaster, and a timeout... but every once in a while, it actually smelled pretty good. 

Even though were both grown now, my little sister is still my best friend, and the main inspiration for this company. Family is everything to me, and the memories I have from my childhood with her are so special. That's what I love about candles - they can take you back to those memories. For a while I didn't understand how or why, but keep reading and I'll explain it a little bit more. 

It’s no secret that, as humans, our sense of smell is linked to our centers of emotion, nostalgia and wellness. In fact, scientists (actual scientists, not my crazy little sister) believe that smell and memory are so closely linked because the anatomy of the brain allows olfactory signals to get to the limbic system very quickly.

Experts say the memories associated with smells tend to be older and thought about less often, meaning the recollection is very vivid when it happens. Thus, every aroma designed at Evergreen Trading Co. is inspired by moving experiences, from childhood memories to travel with loved ones.
